[00:00] Hi um so in this episode I want to address something which might be a no-brainer to anyone who has been doing SEO outreach for a considerable period of time you know if if you haven't been doing that or you know maybe just you are just used to you know calling it creating backlinks for building I I want to ensure that you guys and girls are aware how creating
[00:45] Backlinks is different than earning backlinks right again I know it can be a bit of a subjective matter building or creating backlinks uh is something that at least I interpret as you know any of the pre 2013 era links that were being built right like the web 2.0 properties posting a blog comment registering in a discussion forum and ensuring that you know your signature has your website's URL in it uh pbns or private blog network links which are usually you know toxic and and
[01:31] Dangerous right so if if you are using any of these outdated and low quality tactics you should be calling them or labeling them as building links or creating backlinks this is quite low quality work it was you know way before 2013 you know it's not seen as something which is adding value to your um SEO campaign right now earning backlinks is a complicated and long process you know it involves steps like finding
[02:18] Relevant websites and by the way the the goal here is contextual backlinks okay so these are uh contextual uh backlinks which which are you know uh high quality backlinks which are you know relevant backlinks which are from legitimate websites you know to put it simply they're not as easy to get posting a comment under a blog right or including your website URL in your signature while posting on a discussion forum right these are much harder to get these are
[03:03] More in-depth uh I mean these are more high quality links so some of the steps involved that makes it so hard is that you have to find relevant websites right now relevancy is a bit of a spectrum and I will be probably we should be doing a video on that as well uh I mean I don't think relevancy is a black and white thing I think it's more of a spectrum you know so it's not uh you know some things might be more relevant to your industry or your blog
[03:39] It's um and and some things might be less relevant to you or your industry right but let's let's discuss that in another video then you might also be reviewing that website's SEO KPIs right and this again uh is something that I should discuss in a separate video um these factors which I will uh and then obviously you want to you you are crafting quality pitches so you know this is not about sending you know this is not about bombarding hundreds or thousands of people uh with the same typical uh page where
[04:19] You are like you know hey can I write for your blog or can you give us a blog post right so this is far from that you have to personalize it you may want to include some kind of wit or humor uh then you want to ensure that you have researched the website right uh if you have done your research you might find out a topic that's very much in demand among their readers and then you can pitch them that topic for instance uh it may also include
[04:46] Relationship building via social media or other means right so it's a very long and and obviously it takes more time so that's it for today thank you so much bye
