Part 3 of the #SEObacklinks tutorial series: Type 3 backlinks.
§ 03Show notesVol. XV · № 03
### Type 3 Backlinks: Content Origin Types
3(a) Original
A link placed within content that was written exclusively for and published on that particular site. The highest-value type in this bucket — unique editorial content signals genuine editorial endorsement.
3(b) Duplicate
A link within content that has been published in identical or near-identical form across multiple sites. Google may discount or devalue these links due to duplicate content signals.
3(c) Republished
A link within content that was originally published elsewhere and then legitimately republished with attribution (e.g., syndication). These can still pass value depending on the republishing site's authority and the syndication relationship.
3(d) Scraper
A link within content that has been scraped (copied without permission) from another site. Generally considered low quality or toxic — Google often ignores or discounts links from known scraper sites.

[00:02] And in this episode of the sie business um I'll be going through um link type three so the third type of link bucket according to which you know review and classify backlinks so if you have not watched the previous two parts of this video um I am including the links to those two in the description of this video or this audio podcast and you know you should I suggest that you go through those first because they will explain what's going on here we have already gone through link type
[00:44] One and link type two and now we are going through link type three okay so in link type three we uh analyze whether a link is original duplicate republished republished or a scraper backlink okay so let me go through these one by one so original backlink is when it's original content and they have not sort of you know um you know they have the article itself is not you know sort of copy pasted from somewhere else okay in some cases some publications may have uh some kind of agreements with
[01:21] Other websites uh which I will explain just in a second when I talk about republished links or in some cases some bad actors might just without any permission without any kind of content syndication agreement they will just go ahead and copy someone else's and so if if the content that they are copying if it includes a link to your then when this other guy uh republishes original article on their site uh then then you see a backlink again okay uh if this if it doesn't make sense
[01:54] Uh so far uh stay with me because when I explain what duplicate republican scraper are with examples this will totally make okay now in case of this article uh it's not published anywhere else uh clutch dot co is the actual uh original site which which which granted us this backlink so hence this is an original backlink and most of your backlinks will be original backlinks unless you are an SEO outreach agency like ourselves and you are doing backlinking at uh scale right so I mean obviously we
[02:28] We um you know try to keep track of things um these things so that we can you know charge our clients and all that um now what is a duplicate backlink so duplicate backlink is let's your website is um you know abc.com and you have already earned a backlink from forbes.com okay and I'm talking about a do follow contextual now if you end up earning another backlink from forbes.com uh then you know that's not really useful for you in terms of SEO right so in that case we turn that
[03:07] Backlink as a duplicate backlink okay so we we try to discourage our team from uh duplicate backlinks obviously so now let's go to the third type of backlinks which is republish backlinks so in some cases uh if I if I take this example uh which by the way includes a backlink of one of our clients but I will not mention who the clients who the client is but within this article um you know they they what bank rate does is that they use hero often and they will often
[03:39] When they when they are finished publishing an article uh it gets republished the very same article uh gets republished by msn as well um and and from what I can see it's because um you know they have a content syndication in place have I seen that argument agreement or no have they told me about it no but I mean just look at them bank rate is a totally legit um decent high quality website msn everyone knows about msn so you know in such a case we call we term such
[04:13] Backlinks as as republished backlinks okay now on to the last type which is escaper backlink so sometimes um a site like if you look at this site app they have a low DR a lot of the images are not working and we we know of this article because it was published at another website so we just know that they have basically copy pasted the article maybe through some software so that's why we call it a scraper backlink okay uh here is example of scraper backlinks so some
[04:51] Sites like which are keeping track of statistics and whatnot of different sites they are using these so but that's it for now thank you so much bye
